BT Packaging Concepts

As part of a company wide drive to embrace the principles of a circular economy, British Telecom asked The Design Unit to re-assess the packaging for one of their standard home phones, which are sold in stores throughout the UK.

Several concepts were produced and prototyped, which addressed the issues of second life usage and resource efficiency, through minimising material usage and the final packaged volume. A visual identity was created to subtly accentuate the eco-design credentials.

The concepts were presented to key decision makers within the company in order to influence the future direction of packaging.
